The center was approved by the National Institute of Virology, Pune. The test kit and reagents were sent and the RT-PCR test was performed over here. The M. P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar is associated with the Irwin group of hospitals in Gujarat. It is the second-largest hospital in Gujarat after the BJ Medical College. This center was approved in order to cater to the needs of the entire Saurashtra region of Gujarat and to help reduce the burden on BJ Medical College. The test center is set up at the Department of Microbiology and Viral research and here also the same technique of RT-PCR will be used.
