For Hawa Mahal, you’ll have to trek up the hill giving you the view of the two townships – Rampur on the eastern side and Sant on the western side. Since it is atop a hill, the enthralling 360-degree view of Sukhi river, villages around and backwaters of the Kadana Dam.

The Raj Mahal at the bottom of the hill gives a glimpse of Gothic Architecture, intricate designs and carved wooden pillars.

The heart of Santrampur – Shri Joraver Vilas was built in 1926 by Saheb Shir Joraver Singh. Santrampur is a town located in the Mahisagar district of Gujarat. 

This palatial villa belongs to Maharana Santrampur and his royal family which has been transformed into a hotel for guests. As per records, Rana Sant is said to have been the first ruler of the princely state who established the Santrampur kingdom in 1255. The Maharana Saheb Shri Joraver Singh built Shri Joraver Vilas in 1926 who later ruled Santrampur. 

Presently, the royal family of HH Maharana Paranjayaditya and his wife Maharani Mandakini Kumari reside at this beautiful villa. The reason behind opening the doors open to guests is to create an experience of royal hospitality. There are five rooms and suites that exude the real beauty of the royal palace. You’ll be amazed by the aesthetics of the surroundings as well as the drawing-room, vintage artefacts in the courtyard.

Rather than the cliche swimming pools, you find in most of the hotels and resorts, here you can enjoy your meals by the lake or even better, relish high-tea in the middle of the lake. If you take the Ahmedabad-Zalond Highway (NH47), it will take around 3 hours 22 minute hours (165 km). 

The route via Dahegam-Bayad Road and Ahmedabad-Zalod Highway will take 3 hours 48 minute at a distance of (167.5 km)

Which modes of transport can you use to reach Santrampur?

By Air

From Ahmedabad, you can take a flight to Vadodara since that is the nearest airport to Santrampur. Santrampur is a two-hour drive from Vadodara. 

By Train 

There are several options of day and overnight trains to reach Santrampur from Ahmedabad. 

By Bus/Road

You can book a bus ticket to Santrampur from the website of GSRTC that run the entire day and night. You can also opt for private travel agents. If you travelling in your private car or a rented car, you can directly reach the destination.
